    Frequently Asked Questions

We work with estates of all sizes, from a modest family home to a multi-million pound property portfolio. There are no stupid questions, and if you would like information to better understand your circumstances, please don’t hesitate to make contact by telephone, email or contact form on this page. There is no charge, no fee and no obligation.

Here are a few questions we have been asked before:

    1. How much does it cost?

The simple answer is: it depends. Not all wills are the same, they don’t all achieve the same thing. Not all estates are the same and the planning they need may be different. What we can say is; all initial meetings for a review of your circumstances are completely free of charge and come with no obligation. We discuss all fees and costs before any decisions are made and we are very open and transparent.

    2. Do you do home visits?

Yes! A Mayfair Estate Planning consultant would be happy to meet you in the comfort of your own home and at no additional cost. Meetings often take place in the clients home where they are most comfortable and have access to any relevant paperwork.

    3. I don’t have a large estate or loads of money, do I need an estate planner?

We all have personal vulnerabilities and people who are dear to us. Whether you have ultra-high-net-worth or modest means, we all need to think about estate planning. If nothing else, ask yourself; who will look after you in your latter years? This requires planning.

    4. I have a will I made years ago. Should this still be alright?

Legislation and tax changes all the time, as to families and relationships. You should have your Will reviewed every three years to make sure it is kept up to date. In fact, some significant changes to inheritance tax were introduced in 2016, therefore you may benefit from having your circumstances reviewed if you made your will before this date.

    5. I am more worried about my parents than myself. Would you meet with them?

If your parents would like to meet with us, we would be delighted to meet with them. We are happy to have an initial conversation with you present if this makes you and them most comfortable. Just get in touch today and we can arrange a meeting at the most convenient time and location.
